The Vale of Cashmere is described online as a “Secluded woodland trails with shaded paths around a tree-fringed pond & popular for bird watching”.

It has been a hidden gem for years. A beautiful oasis originally housing reflecting pools and gardens designed by Olmsted, Prospect Park’s designer, to leverage a secluded, natural valley carved by glaciers.  The Vale continues to be an oasis used by many for quiet contemplation and a place where nature lovers can observe a wonderful ecosystem at work with lush trees, numerous birds and plants.

Prospect Park Alliance is now in the process of renovating this area including possibly adding buildings such as an entertainment center!

Will that encourage quiet contemplation??
