2021 NYC Election – MTOPP’s Ranking Choices
Mayor Top Five:
Our strategy is to keep Eric Adams from being elected because he’s pro-corruption, pro-police and pro-development. Got endorsed by NYC Police Benevolent Association and wants to bring back “Stop and Frisk”. Also had heavy campaign against community residents using the Police to harass, arrest and suppress.
Top Five – It’s time for a woman to be in charge.
- Maya Wiley
- Dianne Morales
- Kathryn Garcia
- Andrew Yang
- Scott Stringer
Comptroller
The Office of the Comptroller has a staff of approximately 800 people and is mainly responsible for audits and overseeing how city agencies spend their money, reviewing city contracts, managing the city’s public pension funds and issuing bonds to help pay for large projects. The Comptroller is second in line of succession to the mayor but needs someone in the position who is interested in and satisfied with being the Comptroller.
Top Five
- Brian Benjamin
- Teri Liftin
- Michelle Caruso-Cabrera
- Kevin Parker
- David Weprin
(No to Brad Landers who sold out Gowanus in their rezoning fight and Corey Johnson, who is simply using this as a stepping stone and punished City Council people who wanted to take money from the Police Department.)
Brooklyn Borough President
- Antonio Reynoso (Fought against rezoning in his district and just recently shut down a rezoning plan)
- Joann Simon – Activist and consistent voice against large scale development.
- Robert Cornegy (Protected his district from significant rezonings)
- Kimberly Council
- Khari Edwards
City Council Races
District 35
- Michael Hollingsworth
- Curtis Harris
- Regina Kinsey
- Hector Robinson
- Deirdre Levy
We have completely eliminated Crystal Hudson because she is getting lots of money from folks related to the real estate industry. Crystal was Laurie Cumbo’s staff member and her Treasurer when Laurie ran for office the second time. Finally, Crystal is already getting PAC money in the form of Independent Expenditures, the same PACs that gave to Laurie. Currently there are negative ads against Michael Hollingsworth being paid for by an Real Estate Industry PAC who supports Crystal Hudson. Expect more to come as the race gets closer to the finish line!
Update: The money is now coming in for Crystal Hudson under independent expenditures. The same PAC “Empire State 32BJ” who supported Coucilwoman Laurie Cumbo is supporting Crystal Hudson and has spend over $50,000!
Also Hudson has gotten support from Hotel Workers, same folks that also supported Laurie Cumbo. They have currently spent over $100,000 on Crystal.
But then we predicted that at the end of this race the wolves would start coming out!
District 36
- Chi Osse
- Robert Waterman
- Tahirah Moore
- Henry Butler
- Jason Walker
District 40
- Rita Joseph
- Vivia Morgan
- Blake Morris
- Cecilia Cortez
- Kenya Handy-Hilliard
Update: Please note we moved Kenya down our list when we found out that she lied about her job title on one of her mailers. Lying before you are in office is a sure sign that you will continue to do so once you are in.
We completely eliminated Edwin Raymond (Edreweene Raymond) for the following reasons.
- Changed his name from Edreweene Raymond to Edwin Raymond in 2020 right before running. (We assumed it was to hide his police brutality charges)
- A lawsuit that was substantiated was brought against Edreweene Raymond (now running as Edwin Raymond) for police brutality! Bond v City of New York Docket # 1:11-cv-03164-BMC
- Almost 60% of his donations come from outside of NYC and from all over the United States, showing that he is getting support from some big national organization.
- Lived at 900 Lenox Rd. Apt 5-G in the heart of East New York, District 41 not District 40!
- He lied about where he was living and where he has lived.
- Police all over the Country, including NYC police are supporting him.
- The Media has continued to spot light him as person who took the police to task for their quota system when in fact (if anyone were to bother to read the lawsuit), it was because he wanted to get a higher position within the police force and they were using his inability to maintain his quota requirement not to promote him. However, he did get promoted. Case: Raymond v. The City of New York – Docket No. 15-CV-6885 (LTS)
We also didn’t support Josue Pierre, for he is implicated in unlawful behavior with the Democratic Club. And we have enough corruption! Case: Jordan v. Pierre Docket No. 1:18-CV-08528- JGK
The rest of the City Council Districts we present here are based upon forums that we have produced and recommendations from grassroots organizations in the community struggling with re-zoning issues. We are simply choosing the best known candidates and we suggest that reach out to organizations in your community for further input regarding the other four choices.
Or better yet, do your own research and find out at least who is getting PAC money (they should automatically not get your vote) and where their donations are coming from etc. Go to the Campaign Finance Board and search for your district etc…
