Lies, Lies Lies!\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The media<\/strong> has been pushing the concept of the\u00a0Garden vs the Community<\/strong>, regarding the “Affordable” units being created. \u00a0It has been repeated over and over again that 50% <\/strong>of the residential units will be “affordable”. \u00a030% <\/strong>from the Mandatory Inclusionary Housing <\/strong>(MIH) which will allow breaking of\u00a0the height limits and 20%<\/strong> from Federal monies from HPD (87%<\/strong> of its money comes from Federal)\u00a0and HUD.<\/p>\n

We found out that there is NO\u00a0<\/u>20%<\/strong> coming from Federal <\/strong>government.\u00a0This 20% is a scam! Created by our elected officials and developer. See the letter below which came from United State Environmental Protection Agency, which states that “No Federal Funding is associated with the\u00a0project [960 Franklin Ave]”<\/strong>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Information Confirmed by Elected Officials<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We met with two Federal elected officials who confirmed the above statement.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0We met with Congresswoman Yvette Clark<\/strong> and a staff member of Senator Gillibrand<\/strong>. \u00a0Both confirmed that there are\u00a0no known applications or requests pending for monies for this project. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Only Affordable on the Table<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

There is only 30% affordable<\/strong> units on the table with this deal from the MIH program. \u00a0The developer has chosen option 2 <\/strong>which is called the “work force<\/strong>” one., where 30% will be at 115% AMI<\/strong>, which is ($122,000<\/strong> for a family of four)! \u00a0 The Crown Heights community is AMI is $40,000.<\/strong> \u00a0Making these apartments severe rent burden <\/strong>apartments, meaning they will not qualify for these apartments.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Assemblyman Walter Mosley has reneged on His Promise to Meet with Us!<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
We set up a meeting<\/strong> almost two months ago<\/strong> with Assemblyman Mosley<\/strong> to discuss his open approval of this project based upon the 50% affordable <\/strong>units. \u00a0We had an appointment set up for tomorrow <\/strong>which he has simply ignored.<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
